About Mike Routen

Mike served in the US Navy as a Corpsman and Search and Rescue aircrew member, putting in the kind of work where systems and checklists are the difference between a good outcome and a bad one. After his service, he earned his helicopter pilot certificate and went on to become a flight instructor. That background taught him something that still shapes how he works: when the stakes are real, you build the system first and improvise never.

After the Navy, Mike spent over 30 years building software solutions that made a measurable difference in how businesses operated. Not demos. Not prototypes. Systems that ran daily and moved the needle on the bottom line.

Today he runs Welcome Desk AI, an AI receptionist platform built for local service businesses, and R4 Digital Systems, where he helps small business owners put AI to work in ways that actually stick.

Mike is based in Northwest Arkansas and works with small business owners across the country. When he is not building AI systems, you will probably find him on the water.
